Nancy Cherry, FNP-BC, CNM
Nancy is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, and Emory University school of Nursing in 2001. She also earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from Emory in 2008 with a dual degree in Family Practice and Midwifery. Nancy grew up in Tennessee, and has lived in the bay area for four years. Her special interests are in women’s health and pediatrics. Nancy especially enjoyed her work in Haiti and working with the women and children homeless populations here. When not working, Nancy enjoys exploring San Francisco with her husband and two small children.
Rosanna Chow, MD
Originally from Myanmar, Dr. Chow has lived in the Bay Area for over 20 years. Dr. Chow is married and has a grown daughter she is very proud of. Her interests include, women health, pediatrics and elder care. In her spare time she enjoys working in her organic garden, cooking and playing with her 3 dogs, her cat and parakeet.
Jacey Howard, PA-C
Jacey Howard is a Physician’s Assistant having earned her undergrad at Oklahoma Baptist University in 2001, and a Masters of Health Science in 2007. Jacey’s roots are in the Midwest, she’s originally from Oklahoma, but transplanted to San Francisco by way of Chicago in spring of 2012. Besides working in a field she loves, her shiniest life moments are shaped by music, the great outdoors, good books, an incredible boyfriend, & spending time with family and friends.
Melissa Lin, MD
Dr. Lin was raised in Southern California and pursued her undergraduate and medical school studies at Brown University and George Washington University, respectively. She completed her residency in family medicine at UCLA and practiced in Los Angeles for a couple of years before relocating to San Francisco in 2009, during which time Dr. Lin joined Pacific Family Practice Medical Group. Her practice interests include preventative medicine, routine continuity care for patients and their families, optimization and management of chronic disease and women’s health. Dr. Lin is happily married and a mother of two. In her free time, Dr. Lin enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and enjoying all the outdoor beauty that the San Francisco Bay Area has to offer.
Sophia Mirviss, MD
Dr. Mirviss has been practicing family medicine in San Francisco for twenty five years. She received her Bachelor’s of Science from University of Chicago, her Doctorate of Medicine from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completed a Residency in Family Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital, University of California San Francisco. Dr. Mirviss holistically engages her patients in the healing relationship. An exemplary diagnostician, she combines technical and analytical skills whilst listening intensely and compassionately to arrive at patient-centered diagnoses and plans of treatment. Dr. Mirviss’ years of experience allow her to skillfully navigate the often complex medical and insurance industries. Nominated by her physician peers as a “Best Doctor” in the Bay area many times over, her patients cite her warmth, humor, and healing ability as the reason they steadfastly remain. Dr. Mirviss, when not practicing medicine, cherishes her time with her two daughters and long-term partner. She is an avid reader, jogger and enthusiastic cook.
Daniel Roth, MD
Dr. Daniel Roth was raised in Palo Alto and has lived in San Francisco since 1987. He enjoys outdoor activities…riding his bike, hiking and camping. He has always enjoyed music and has recently started to learn to play the trumpet. He is proud of his two grown daughters one of whom graduated from college and the other graduating in spring of 2013. As a family practice provider he enjoys seeing patients through all stages of life. He has a calm and well humored approach with his patients when delivering care.
Marie Shaw, FNP
Marie Shaw graduated from the University of California San Francisco Family Practice N.P. Program. She also attended the University of North Carolina and Tulane University, where she completed two bachelor’s degrees in Cell & Molecular Biology and Nursing. Prior to her work with Pacific Family Practice, Marie worked in the ER, home care, and ICU care specialties. Marie Shaw’s teaching experience includes clinical adjunct faculty at UCSF. She continues to train Nurse Practitioner’s. Marie has special interests in internal medicine, pediatric medicine, dermatology and minor surgical procedures. Marie also speaks Spanish as a second language. Marie, originally a Marin native, now also currently resides in her hometown of San Rafael. Her hobbies include competitive volleyball, yoga, running, gardening, creative cooking & traveling.
Samantha Smith, PA-C
Samantha Smith is a Physician Assistant who graduated from the UC Davis FNP/PA program in Sacramento, California. She spent several years skiing, running, biking and swimming in Maryland, Colorado and Tahoe before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. She speaks Spanish fluently, a result of studying abroad at age 16 in Puerto Iguazu, Argentina and doing disaster relief in Nicaragua and Honduras. Samantha has a special interest in health education, Diabetes and Family Medicine.
